OL-Shop was founded 1977 and is ever since run by the Austrian orienteering pioneer Erich Simkovics.

Here’s a short summary of functions during his long orienteering career:

• International Orienteering Federation: member of the Development Commission, promoting orienteering in South Europe, Technical Delegate at major international competitions, European Working Group, ...
• Austrian Orienteering Federation (since 1968): President (2007-2009), Vice President (-2005), Head of various commissions, Jury, …
• Founder of the first pure orienteering club in Austria (OLC, now OLC Wienerwald)
• Orienteering Instructor at the University Sports Institute
• Mapper of some of the first orienteering maps in Austria (Seefeld, Igls, …)

• IOF Congress and 3 Days Orienteering 1976 in Innsbruck
• Ski-O World Meeting Karlstift 1978
• Junior European Match 1984 in Hartberg
• (Unofficial) Junior World Championships 1989 in Kufstein
• IOF World Cup in Baden 1992
• Countless local, regional, national competitions
